Guess who has two thumbs and had the honor of being the Grand Marshal of the 2022 Greenbrier Independence Day Parade.........this gal!
I was EXTREMELY surprised to be invited by the GreenRidge Chamber of Commerce. After a few hours of, "I can't believe that they asked ME," I accepted the honor.
There was some contemplation about shopping for an evening gown and a tiara, but I figured that would be a little much. Maybe just a sash....? Nah, not my style.
I did learn an important lesson during the parade. When you think that you have way too much candy to throw out, you actually have way too little. I apologize to all of the little ones on the second half of the route. Rationing out candy properly is not my strength.
The parade was extra exciting this year as there were some new rides. These images were captured by my brother, Sam Grant. Sam is the owner of Eloquent Homes Photography.
Anyhow, if you get the opportunity to be a parade Grand Marshal...do it! It's a lot of fun!
