What's the difference between jams, jellies, & preserves?

We get asked this ALL the time.  Some people hate seeds.  Some people aren't supposed to eat seeds.  Some people say it doesn't taste the same without them!  In fact, we sell WAY more Blackberry Jam with seeds than without.  Folks say it just tastes better!

So...what's the difference between jams, jellies, & preserves?

Here's the short version:

Jelly is made with strained fruit juice.
There are no pieces of fruit/seeds in jelly.
Jam is made with mashed fruit. Jam usually includes seeds.
Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit.

So...now you know.  We recommend doing lots of research and trying lots of different varieties!  :)
